May 2017 Class Schedule

May 2017
Class Schedule

We had a wonderful time Saturday during our regularly scheduled monthly Demo Day.  Those who attended made this cute birthday card using stamps and dies from My Favorite Things.

Seriously, cute!  The slider tab pulls out and reveals the full message.  There is a stamp and die for a boy version as well.....

Lisa put out the new class schedule for May.  I know you will like it.  There is something for everyone (I know, I always say that, but it's true!).  Here's what's on tap for May.

Mini Journal and Box
Tuesday, May 2
10:30 am OR 6 pm
$30

Let Lisa guide you through the steps to create a mini journal that tucks inside a decorative box.  The mini journal includes several sheer pockets to use to hold sweet notes or mini vintage ephemera.  Papers by Kaisercraft.

Prayer Pocket
Thursday, May 11
10:30 am OR 6 pm
$35

This is a really fun project made from a simple paper bag.  It hangs from a mini hanger from Tim Holtz.  Three pockets hold several treasures.... 2 mini journals and an assortment of message cards.  Great encouragement gift or holder for your special prayer journal.

Art Journaling Saturday
Saturday, May 13
10 am OR 2 pm
$15

Lisa will be guiding you through the creation of this butterfly page.  You may choose to create a 1 page spread but can certainly do 2 if you wish.  Since art journaling is all about experimentation, Lisa created 2 similar pages in order to explore 2 different ways of coloring the background.  And that's the beauty of art journaling....  You'll have lots of fun with this one.

Flutter By Cards
Thursday, May 18
10:30 am OR  6 pm
$25

When Lisa saw these butterfly stamps, dies and sentiment stamps by My Favorite Things, she knew she had to create this beautiful set of cards.  You'll enjoy playing with the new Oxide inks, distress inks and these dies and stamps!

Brilliant Poppies Canvas
Thursday, June 1

Here's a fabulous example of how Lisa takes a stamp and turns it into an amazing piece of artwork.  Let Lisa guide you through the creation of this canvas that will have all your friends asking you where you bought it. You will have the pleasure of saying "I made that!"

Nathalie will be sharing her new stamps by Rubber Moon, Archival Ink Pads in various colors and Art Graf water-soluable graphite.

WHAT'S COOKING?
Sunday, June 18
10 am to 5 pm (1 hr included for lunch)
$115

What makes an Art Journal spread, or for that matter a work of art, work?

Let's explore in a playful and creative way the Principles and Elements of Art, using Mixed Media tools and supplies.  Think of the principles as you might think of a recipe: a starting point to which we add the right ingredient - the elements - to make your art journal pages more interesting.  Develop your individual recipes, which will result in your very own style. - LET'S GET COOKING!

Nathalie will bring her stamps by Rubber Moon, ArtFoamies, and Stampendous, her stencils by Stencil Girl Products, Artgraf water soluble graphite, Derwent Art Bars, Neocolor II water soluable wax bars and acrylic markers.

YOU will need to bring:  Your art journal (large Dylusions recommended), white gesso, matte gel medium, 8-10 colors of Acrylic Paint, black & white acrylic paint, water color set (if you have one), assortment of paint brushes (bristle, wide flat, medium flat, small round and fan, and a few smaller brushes for your watercolors), rubber brayer, palette knife, black archival ink pad, heat gun, small misting bottle, apron to protect clothing.
